CaLP is looking for an experienced LMS/E-learning specialist with expertise in LMS development and knowledge of different LMS hosting agencies/systems, to provide guidance and advice to the CaLP team in refining our technical specifications/ LMS requirements.
Primary Objective
Provide technical advice and expertise to CaLP’s team on LMS options.
Methodology
The consultant/team will:
- Review CaLP’s current LMS scoping document to fully understand CaLP’s LMS needs
- Hold interviews with key CaLP staff/stakeholders, as well as any potential partners identified by CaLP
- Be available for collaborative discussions with CaLP during the week of 16 May
- Develop the technical specifications required for the CaLP LMS and convert the existing LMS scoping study document into an RFP (request for proposals) document.
- Advise on the pros and cons of each current option in the CaLP LMS scoping study, including consideration of data protection issues, or other risks, and suggest any additional options open to CaLP which have not yet been fully captured
- Confirm quotations with suppliers based on revised specifications and needs
- Develop a cost-comparison matrix, and selection criteria to support the CaLP team’s procurement process
- Advise on the best approach for CaLP to achieve its goal and meet the current LMS needs
Essential profile of the consultants:
The consultant/s should have the following essential skills and knowledge:
- A high level of technical experience and knowledge of learning management systems (essential), and e-learning (desirable)
- Knowledge of the e-learning sector and strong networks of LMS providers
- Familiarity with open/public platforms such as Disaster Ready or IFRC online platform
